Few years ago my sister and I wanted to explore Chandni Chawk… we have been living in Delhi for almost 25 years went to college, got married, had kids and not even once did we go and shop at Chandni Chawk! so we decided in 2013 that we will go buy some lehengas… really I am talking about multiple lehengas. So we woke up early that morning took a 8:30 metro to Chandni Chawk, we wanted to avoid traffic and theft :-(, reached Chandni Chawk @ 9:15AM and took a riksha to Katra Asarfi gali… and realized nothing really opens before 11:00 AM!!! so we went inside the gali just so that we could identify what shops we should visit once they open and saw Chabra 555 was open WOW! We went inside the shop; they asked for our budget… this was first time in our lives we were buying a lehenga ( I wore a simple saree for my wedding and my sister bought a lehenga but that was from South Ex. prices don’t mean much when you are in South Ex.) so we said 10,000Rs per lehenga. They had really good collection and because we were all by ourselves in the shop with sooo many people to show us the stuff, their attention to every detail we were saying was remarkable. At the end of it all we bought 3 lehengas. I love this lehenga for its really old fashioned look and feel its really one of those that you could wear to a wedding and you might just be the only one. It is a heavy lehenga even in real weight. It came with blouse but I wore it with a gold sequin blouse that I already had and saved the blouse piece… will use that in future for something else.
