Paithani Saree

If you ever get a chance to go to Nasik or Siridi you should make it a point to take a day trip to Yeola village/city it is about 100Km from both these places. Yeola is a major weaving center of the Shalu, Paithani silk and Pitambari saree. I picked this saree from Nasik but regret not taking a day trip to this amazing town and buying something right from the source. The silk is really good I did not have to put a safety-pin to hold it; the pleats came out so well as if done by a professional. In the first image you can clearly see the thread work and the golden work on it has a real shine. Most of these are nice and festive and can be used for weddings. I bought it to add to my collection of Indian traditional sarees. There are several Paithani saree vendors on Facebook who post pictures and saree for sale regularly at decent price but will still recommend going to the city 😉
